We got Mischief (aka Pony) as a 4 year old stallion because he was so damn cute and he looked like a chocolate pony…and his owner couldn’t afford to feed him anymore. She asked us to take him. He came with overgrown hooves and bad angles from never being trimmed. He was also a terror until we gelded him. He chased all the horses around, tried to mount them ( at any speed! ) and bit holes in them. He bit people too. After we had him gelded he became a wonderful pony. He also gave riding and handling lessons to at risk kids. He mostly just cantered around until the kids were laughing.

That’s his gift. Play. One of his lessons to me was that building soft tissue is the sustainable approach to improving angles.

Pony has been on 1-3 week trims for 15 years.
